Your love for Noah and the commitment you had to his care; your desire to minister to others in a similar situation; as well as doing what's best for Kailyn and Joshua. We also moved recently from NY to TN and couldn't be happier. Of course, we miss friends and family but we have always homeschooled and it is so much bigger and more supportive here. I just wanted to say I was SO happy for your daughter that you have decided to remove her from the public school. 7th grade is one of the worst I think and I'm sure she is thrilled to be with God loving parents all day.
As a new homeschooler you might put a lot of pressure on yourself, please don't! You could do two hours of school each day and accomplish what they accomplish in school easily. My daughter is in her first year of college and received a full scholarship (saved us $34,000 a year!!!) She has made some awesome friends but was definitely not part of the "in" crowd and was on her own for the first couple of weeks. I myself was thrilled as I believe God sets people aside for a reason, she has now met some young people who love the Lord and is really enjoying the college experience. My point in telling you this is that YES, homeschoolers can be successful as far as academics but more importantly she is close to God and following His commands not the world. For me as a Christian, that is most important.

Also, we use HomeLife Academy as well and love them, they are so much easier then the requirements in NY. If I can answer any questions for you or offer you some encouragement please don't ever hesitate to contact me.

I still think of precious Noah quite often and will never forget his beautiful, "light up the world"
smile. I can't wait to see you dance with him when we all meet!Kristie (Sept 05 Mommies)noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19960667.post-83212810623855716302012-10-01T10:06:36.141-05:002012-10-01T10:06:36.141-05:00Thanks for posting this, Nichole. I am so very glad for you - that you have found a church home that is blessing you so much, that Joshua's adjusting so well, and that you've made this decision with Kailyn that's bringing you and her peace and joy. That's a tough age to have such a big transition. We moved provinces when I was in 8th grade and it was AwFUL. I struggled from then all the way to 12th grade :(

We are also doing ACE paces and I love how efficiently we complete the day and on to more important things :) She will do great and I agree...the bonding is amazing. So awesome to read of her heart for GKTW!

Excited for your new beginning.
