Hospital Week 7

We are still in hospital but Noah is doing really well and we hope to be home soon. We still get passes each day but it is so difficult to go back at night and sleep at the hospital. Noah is up to 24cc/hr for his feeds, so in the next couple of days we should get up to full feeds!! Not much refluxing either which is great. His TPN is slowly being tapered off, but right now he is still getting lots of extra calories from it, so his weight gain has been excellent! He is 9lbs 10oz now! We praise God that the GJ-tube is working!!

Noah,

Hi buddy! You're getting so big. You're about to catch up with Karson. Glad that you're feeling much better and I hope you get to go home soon.

Nichole, thanks for updating. I'm so happy to hear that he's doing much better and gaining weight...that's just awesome news. Take care of yourself.

I had commented on your blog weeks back for your sons first birthday. I just recently checked back to see if you had responded and see why you may not have even noticed. Looks like you have had a very rough few weeks on top of a very difficult year. I will be thinking of you and your family! What a brave little boy you have to be so young and yet through so much already. Good job to you for getting him and the rest of your family through these tough stages.

My daughter is growing but having eating issues. We are still on the infant neocate as her digestive system is not ready for the junior. Still waiting to see an occupational therapist to teach her how to swallow more solid foods properly. Her omeprazole was just increased and the doses were spread out more as her body metabolizes the medicine to quickly. Yesterday I had fed her some soft milk/soy free bread that was soaked in rice milk as per the dietitians suggestion and she broke out in hives. Finding new foods that not only she can eat but have some nutritional value is proving to be very difficult.

My thoughts are with you and I hope you are doing well.

That's so wonderful that you can go home for longer. I continue to pray that you can soon go home and be a family all together again. I'm also still praying for God to carry you through the moments and days when you are exhausted and left with questions and doubts and unrest.

This is Nichole's mom. Just letting all you bloggers know, that Noah has come down with a fever, and so has to stay in the hospital once again. We had hoped they would be home by now. Pray, he is back to himself soon, so they can come home.

hello everyone, Nichole's mom again. Noah and Nichole continue to be in the hospital. Turns out the fever and infection were caused by the TPN line, so they have removed it. He is currently on another round of antibiotics for another 10 days, and then it's up to him and God. Pray, Pray, Pray for all of them. This has been an exhausting (almost 2 months) We do not know what tomorrolw holds, but we know who holds tomorrow. God is in control, He is still on the throne, and HE has promised never to leave or forsake his children.

Hi Nichole and family,

Thanks for the update. I don't know you personally, but you're a wonderful grandma. I'm praying for Nichole and family. God is awesome and HE never leaves his children.

Take care and God bless! Please tell Nichole I said hello.

Thanks!

Hi again. We're still praying for that day where you can all go home together... Kathy, you said it well- we don't know what tomorrow holds but we know WHO holds it. Keep grabbing onto God and may His peace cover you as you wait and wonder. I keep thinking of Noah's big smiles- what a treasure he is. What a blessing that you are able to spend these days at the hospital with him (as in that you don't have to be working somewhere else).
