Post Surgery Day 5

It is day 5 following Noah's surgery and he is doing quite well. He is still taking his tylenol round the clock, but he seems to be feeling pretty good! We are getting more and more smiles and giggles today. The swelling continues to go down and his nose is looking better and better. I can hardly wait to see him without the steri-strips and watch his new face continue to take shape over the next few weeks!
He is still definately missing his pacifier and so he wakes a few times at night. I have heard that some surgeons allow the soother back as early as 2 weeks. So I'm hoping Dr Ross will allow this at our 2 week follow-up appointment! I can hope anyways!! The arm restraints don't seem to be bothering him too much.

Here is Noah showing off his new Mic-Key button. Unfortunately we are having lots of problems with leakage through the button which means the valve is probably not working already. So we will have to contact our home nutrition nurse next week and find out what we should do about this. We have also increased his breastmilk/neocate concentration as his weight was starting to plateau again before surgery. Hopefully we will see some weight gain now again. He is now up to 160kcal/Kilo (a normal baby gains weight on 100kcal/Kilo). He just burns off the calories so quickly!

He's such a doll. I hope they are able to help you with the Mic-Key button. Glad he's doing so well. What a sweet little baby!

Noah, you are SOOO cute!! So, I guess Mommy & Daddy will give you back your soother soon, hey? You're pretty lucky! Micah is such a soother addict now. Lately he won't sleep unless he's got one in his mouth and a back-up in his hand :)
We love you guys!

Hi Noah,
For the first time I can see that you look like Joshua. You are both pretty cute guys. I've printed a few before and after photos, and will take them to Altona to show you off to your Great Aunts.

Ps Is the leak to the button still caused by the prvious problem? I'm refurring to the granulization problem.

He is such a handsome little guy! Isn't it amazing how their face changes almost on a daily basis for the first couple of weeks after surgery? Glad he's not giving you any problems with the no-nos. My son absolutely HATED them and would try to pull them off every chance he got. I hope they get the button figured out and everything starts working properly.
